Circumcision or spiritual purification is the act of putting out all or part of the peni’s foreskin or prepuce. Circumcision is a Latin word and means cut around. The mean of the word circum is “around” and caedere means “to cut”. There are various types of circumcision for example female circumcision that are practiced for a different types of reasons also some circumcise are followed strictly for religion purposes, while some are done due to medical and cultural reasons.
There is another type of circumcision which is the adult circumsicion, some adults make decision of elective surgery in order to circumcise their genitals due to their body modification reasons. About the circumcise history the Egyptians are the people who are the oldest practitioners of this activity and after some time this activity is accepted by Semitic people and they have continued this virtue today also. This activity was also in tradition of Greeks and Romans to a point, but many rejected this activity as it was not mandatory. In some religions this activity is a mandatory procedure just like as Islam and Judaism, but in Judaism this activity is followed very strictly. In Jewish religion male children are circumcised in a observance of set forms in public worship exactly eight days after their birth unless health issues prevent it. The same activity is followed in Islam but the function is much less traditional and the practice is carried out in a less formal manner, although most still recognize the 8th day of life as the time to do so.
Making the decision of circumcision may be guided by religious beliefs. The adult circumsicion in both Jews and Muslims as a part of religious rites. However, the decision not to circumcision, may be one that never considered means- are not most boys circumcised? Is it a clean procedure or not? Although these myths are prevalent in the western countries and other parts of the western world, the conclusion about the circumcise tell a significantly different story.
Male child’s circumcision is not a medically necessary procedure; it is a plastic surgery of the penis. As discussed above, the circumcision started in the ancient Egypt. The ancient Egyptians believed that there was a rebirth of the snake when they shed their skin and due to this they started to be circumcised. The foreskin was assumed that as the snakes skin and the Egyptian people started to be in circumcision.
The foreskin of the penis has different known functions, even in modern times. Although some people suggest that foreskin use has gone the way of the appendix, and in reality the prepuce aids in the sexual health and is for enjoyment of the people. The prepuce works as protective cover for the penis that need no special care. Circumcision is not a worldwide practice near about 80 % male population is untouched.
